Atomic bombs in Hiroshima Nagasaki


They were nuclear attacks ordered by Harry S. Truman, president of the United States, against the Empire of Japan.  The attacks were carried out on August 6 and 9, 1945, respectively, which contributed, together with the Soviet-Japanese War, to the surrender of Japan and the end of World War II.
It's sad that the United States had to resort to this where a lot of people died, but on the other hand it marked the end of the Second World War where many people had already died.
